Item #61 ~ Weil , 1965
The extremely rare Zibeline Secret de Venus bath oil is offered here, in the almost impossible to find 8 ounce size. Yes, that's not a typo! It's EIGHT full ounces of glorious,beguiling, magnetic, enrapturing and mystifying liquid in its original formulation: long discontinued, impossible to replicate with the disappearance of raw materials like natural sandalwood, ambergris and other now rare compounds.
Zibeline was originally formulated by the famous furrier Weil to mask the unpleasant odour of their sable furs,and hence its name means 'Sable' in French. This pristine and breathtaking piece comes from 1965 and has an insertion with instructions on how to apply the precious oil. It is even personalised with a love message : 'A Very Happy 50th : Wishing all my love, John 7/6/1966'
I am pretty sure this is one of only a handful of bottles of this immense size existing in this pristine condition in the entire world! Note that sealed 2 oz bottles of the same oil from the 1980s have asking prices in the $550 + and higher range. And the odour itself, otherwordly, transporting to a dreamy realm of dark pine forests in the vanished past, justifies such a price tag!
Note that about 8 ml has been decanted out of the bottle for the owner's usage because once sold, this item will likely never be owned again.
Price = $4 899 (negotiable to reasonable offers)

Item #62 - Vigny, circa 1940
The infamous Golliwogg, the character for which was birthed by British emigre Florence K Upton in 1895, and the perfume for which was concocted by the French house of Vigny, as 'Parfum Le Golliwogg' in 1919.
The black hair is soft to the touch,and I believe it is made of genuine seal fur.
Unfortunately, this pristine bottle has sealed itself tightly shut over the years, and thus the smell remains a mystery to me, although one of the few people in the world who have been privileged enough to inhale the perfume reports that it is a lavender-based scent with a surprising 'twisting' development!
This stunning bottle is 5 7/8" tall, and has no imperfections whatsoever, and contains what appears to be 3 ounces or more of pristine, unadulterated pure perfume,not the lotion which some other similar bottles have.
Price = $555

Item #63 - Prince Alexis Romanoff, 1953
Item #63 - Prince Alexis Romanoff, 1953
Little is known about this quasi-Russian fragrance,but I've never seen another bottle remotely like it throughout my 2 years as a perfume collector. It is stunningly pristine in condition, with an attractive gold foil type label that states that the concentration is a 'Demi-parfum' named Lublu or 'I love you' in Russian.
The volume indicated is 4 ounces, and it was likely discontinued shortly after it was launched in 1953 in New York.
The flacon is rather Chanel-like, with a gold twine sealing the contents perfectly. Immaculate in every conceivable way despite its age, and a great historical piece!
