Item #1 ~ Guerlain, circa 1968
Featured above is a rare, sealed rosebud amphore of Guerlain's flagship scent Shalimar, in the extrait concentration. These were issued by the esteemed house in the late 1950s till the early 1970s, and are rarely found sealed like this nowadays. Guerlain under LVMH no longer makes anything even close to the quality of the fragrance in this flacon:from experience with similar opened bottles, it is dense, resinous and smoky, with a gorgeous incense & vanilla tango that is to die for!

Item #2 ~ Guerlain, circa 1956
Above is the largest 250 ml Baccarat crystal chauve souris flacon for Guerlain's fragrance Shalimar. It stands 7 3/4 " tall, and is a muscular, heavy bottle that attests to its quality. Based on ad research,Guerlain stopped making this size for the extrait of Shalimar in the mid- to late- 1950s,making this at least sixty years old! Some perfume residue can be found at the base, but the stopper is frozen by dried perfume and I've not attempted to remove it. I have spare Shalimar labels and can attach one at the buyer's request.

Item #3 ~ Guerlain, circa 1959
The last of my Shalimar perfumes on sale this month, the above is a rather rare flacon parapluie that contains 1/4 oz of the extrait. It's just a divine juice: smoky, resinous, leathery and bursting with opoponax and Guerlain's famous unrefined vanilla. It comes with it's original velvet box.

Item #4 ~ Worth, circa 1986
What a rarity! I've only seen these bottles up for auction once every few months! This is the much coveted Lalique bottle of Worth Dans la Nuit perfume. It's marked 350 ml on the base and has no chips or imperfections whatsoever. This is the largest size of this perfume ever made by Lalique. Sealed with original onionskin, its contents are untouched and the silver fastening is still intact. The stars on its blue enameled surface actually twinkle when light is shone from the other side!
Last seen being offered on eBay for $695.

Item #5 ~ Christian Dior, circa 1977
Above is a 8 oz vintage bottle of Christian Dior's Eau Fraiche, a unisex cologne launched in the late 1950s. About 5 oz - 6 oz of the refreshingly creamy lemon scent remains. Very long-lasting!

Item #6 ~ Guerlain, circa 1988
Featured above is a 1 oz rare bottle of Mitsouko parfum de toilette. This particular concentration of the legendary chypre, which Luca Turin has hailed as the greatest perfume of all time, has long been discontinued, with a batch code that indicates it was manufactured in the late 1980s.Pristine condition & balances the mossy underplayed parfum concentration with the spicy effervescence of the eau de toilette, bringing you the best of both concentrations with enough bitter foresty peach to boot. Puts the current eau de parfum formulation to shame!

Item #7 ~ Grès,circa 1979
Goodness gracious! An almost never seen 3.4 oz(100ml) bottle of Cabochard extrait made by the now-defunct fashion house of Gres. It was sealed, with traces of onionskin still remaining on the stopper, but I opened it just to confirm that it isn't a factice and was I rewarded: the contents gallop away with a galbanum blast, before castoreum, smoke and leather take over. Dark, unmitigated richness underscore the high quality and quantity of ingredients used, including labdanum, civet, iris, rose, vetiver and leather notes.
Truly a museum piece!

Item #8 ~ J Claude Brosseau, circa 1987
Above is an original 50ml art deco type flacon of Brosseau's Ombre Rose(pink shadow), which Cher likes, saying : “When I smell Ombre Rose, it smells very sensual and it smells great. And at the last minute you smell a baby in there somewhere."
This is probably the eau de toilette concentration.

Item #9 ~ Chanel, circa 1992
What else can be said about Chanel No. 5 that hasn't been said already? Aloof, captivating, reminiscent of money, this is 2 oz of the eau de cologne concentration that was discontinued in the 1990s. Contains just as much sparkle as the parfum, and probably with better ingredients than the current eau de toilette and eau de parfum formulations!

Item #10 ~ Lancôme, circa 1999
Launched in 1995 by Lancome and discontinued some years later, Poeme must be one of the most tenacious fragrances ever made! It's a distinctive, unusual scent, but also very polarising among those who have tried it! The only scent I know that features the Himalayan blue poppy.
The bottle on the left is the 50ml size of the eau de parfum while the mini on the right contains 4 ml of pure parfum. Apply with care!

Item #12 ~ Jean Desprez, circa 1985
The queen of skanky florals, Bal a Versailles was the favourite perfume of the late superstar Michael Jackson. The roughly 5 ml of extract in this bottle is thick and penetrating, unlike any version from Jean Desprez that you can buy these days!
Note that the words 'Jean Desprez' on the paper label are rather smeared.

Item #13 ~ Lentheric, circa 1967
Little is known about the above perfume from the house of Lentheric, named Miracle Bouquet au perfume. However, the crystal bottle measures over 5 " in height, and is sealed so tightly that not a whiff of the contents can be discerned! A similar bottle with a similar amount of contents was valued in Jacqueline North's widely used Price Guide at $150.

Item #14 ~ Christian Dior, circa 1951
Created in 1947, Miss Dior was the landmark chypre from the house of Christian Dior, intended by Monsieur Dior himself to symbolise a woman in all the dresses ever created by him. It has an unmistakeably animalic base amidst lush greenery.
Don't let the dark colour fool you: it still packs a punch!
Standing 6 3/4 " tall, this magnificent amphora was designed by Baccarat, as evidenced by the star carving at the base, and contains 2 ounces of the precious perfume.

Item #15 ~ Yves Saint Laurent, circa 1989
The empress dowager of '80s Orientals, Yves Saint Laurent's Opium packs a gypsy campfire-like spiciness into a melange of flowers and incense, as well as mandarin orange.
The purse spray on the left was design to hold 1/4 oz, and has about a quarter remaining. The empty 1/4 oz parfum flacon on the right will accompany at no additional cost.
Current day Opium looks cheap, smells cheaper and is a travesty to this, the vintage.
Be warned: allow yourself to be drugged by Opium, and you may never break free again!

Item #16 ~ Guerlain, circa 1964
Guerlain's Vol de Nuit, or night flight,is a gorgeously dark perfume that was issued in 1933. The vintage eau de toilette in this rare flacon goutte from the 1950s-1960s is not bad either: herbal and rich with galbanum and a hint of fuel.
Perfect if you can't(or won't) afford the vintage parfum.

Item #17 ~ Guerlain, circa 1978
The first perfume to be composed solo by Jean-Paul Guerlain, Chant D'Aromes(Song of Aromas) was also supposed to mark a departure from the dark classics of the house like L'Heure Bleue, Mitsouko and Vol de Nuit.
It literally sings with aldehylic peachiness then melds into a floral heart and has a base that includes precious restricted oakmoss.
The flacon is marked 100ml
